Asi Hatay Kunefe

Turkish cuisine is famous for its sweet and syrupy desserts and künefe, the luscious and cheesy dessert from the southeastern region of Turkey is no exception. A crispy cheese-filled dessert made with shredded kataifi, filled with pistachios, it is served hot out of the oven so the cheese is melted, soft and stringy. Flown from the birthplace of kunefe, Asi Hatay's kunefe is the real deal. The package contains Kunefe with a sherbet which is a sweet sugar-based syrup.

PREHEAT INSTRUCTIONS: Preheat oven to 450 F and bake Kunefe for 10-15 minutes. After baking the Kunefe, mix the sherbet simmered with water and pour it on the kunefe while its warm. Fried/roasted nuts such as hazelnuts, pistachios or walnuts can be sprinkled on top of the cooked dessert.
