Beehive Cheese is a small creamery in Ogden, Utah that has quickly made a name for itself in the artisanal cheese world. The company was started by best friends and brothers-in-law Pat and Tim, who had no prior cheesemaking experience but a desire to contribute to the local Utah foodie community. With the help of the Western Dairy Center, a leading cheese research institution in the western U.S., Pat and Tim became artisanal interns and learned the art of cheesemaking. They quickly realized that the key to making great cheese was using the best milk, which they found in Wadeland South, a fourth-generation family creamery with a healthy and thriving herd of Holstein and Jersey cows.

Beehive Cheese's commitment to trying new things and breaking tradition led to the creation of their award-winning rubbed rind cheese, Barely Buzzed, which was the first of its kind and won Best Flavored Cheddar in America at the American Cheese Society competition. The company continues to produce other award-winning cheeses, such as Seahive and Big John’s Cajun, and has brought on the next generation of cheesemakers to continue their vision.
