Oya Organics is a farm that combines agroecological farming practices from California and Oaxaca, Mexico with philosophical influences from Japan. Oya Organics' owners Marsha Habib and Modesto Sanchez Cruz are first and second generation immigrants who bring the knowledge of their family's farming backgrounds to the soil of their own farm in Hollister, CA. The farm is home to over 50 different crops at a given time, creating a tapestry of color and texture that provides habitat for native insects and wildlife, and allows the soil's microorganisms to thrive, resulting in nutrient-rich and flavorful produce. By focusing on building healthy soil, Oya Organics is able to reduce its water usage and enhance the flavor of certain crops through dry farming. The farm is certified organic by CCOF and is committed to environmental stewardship. 

Oya Organics has a horizontal structure, with owners Marsha & Modesto working in the fields alongside their employees, and offering training and promotions to those with hands-on experience. At the end of the season, the farm profits are shared. Oya also partners with community organizations to provide fresh produce to essential workers, low-income neighbors, local shelters, and food banks, and offers its CSA boxes to members for donation when they are out of town. The farm accepts EBT at its farmers market stands and as payment for its CSA, and provides sliding-scale pricing and produce gifts to those in need.
