Kokada is the first ever, original coconut spread. (Think like peanut butter but rather than based in peanuts, based in coconut!). You can enjoy Kokada spread on breads and baked goods, added to pb&js, used as a natural sweetener in smoothies and baked goods, or just straight out of the jar! Gluten Free, Vegan, Peanut Free, and made using natural and ethically sourced ingredients, Kokada is a great fit for almost any dietary needs. Our story began years ago with our "Kofounder", Breanna. As the self-identifying "Queen of Sweets" she was always looking for healthy snacks that would also satisfy her sweet tooth. Inspired by her Jamaican culture and Sri Lankan cuisine, she began to make coconut spread (later named Kokada) for her friends and family. Fast forward a few years and now a team of three, Kokada has launched online and across North Carolina. At Kokada, we believe food is an opportunity to create shared experiences, bridge divides, and build stronger communities, and we are on a mission to connect with all who believe the same. Through our products, we live this each and every day by ethically sourcing wholesome ingredients and committing 10% of our proceeds to community building projects, both locally in North Carolina and in Sri Lanka, where we source our ingredients.
