Vella Cheese Company has been a staple in Sonoma, California since 1931, producing handmade cheese using sustainable practices since 2003. The company's reputation is built on the hour-to-hour personal attention given to each day's production. Tom Vella, the founder of Vella Cheese, arrived in Sonoma in the early 1920s and quickly built a reputation for his hard work, honesty, and superior cheesemaking skills. 

Tom passed the operation down to his children in 1981, and today, two more generations of the Vella family continue the tradition of quality and attention to detail. While many things have changed over the years, the company still uses the same cultures, techniques, and even the same curing rooms to produce the finest cheeses.
