A California standby since 1992, Burma Superstar is a family-operated institution that started in the Richmond and has grown to include three locations (including one in Alameda and one in Oakland). They take much pride in bringing the taste & cooking from Burma and reflect the history of Burmese cuisine, inspired by surrounding countries and ancient traditions. At Burma Superstar, the coastal, forest, tropical and mountainous cultures within Burma have all contributed to the rich tastes and smells you experience in each bite. Borrowing liberally from Indian, Chinese, and Thai cuisine, Burmese dishes are rich, flavorful, and inventive, and no one does them better than them!

Burma Love is the contemporary younger sister to Burma Superstar. The magic behind Burma Love Foods begins in the Shan State mountains of Burma, where arguably the highest quality tea leaves originated and are still grown today. The growers pick the leaves in the “two leaves - one bud” configuration, where the flavor and punch is much more concentrated. The leaves are then fermented for a period of 2 to 6 months, resulting in a unique and earthy flavor profile.
