Far West Cider was founded in 2016 as part of Chinchiolo Family Farms, a 4th generation family farm on a mission to create something delicious out of their cosmetically challenged apples and sometimes other fruit (hello cherries, pluots & citrus). Located in San Joaquin County, they were growing all kinds of delicious apples in the Central Valley of California. The fresh apple market was only interested in the most perfect fruit, though, and any other grades of apples would be sold in bulk to apple juice plants. The Chinchiolo family believed they could create a farm-to-bottle hard cider that would celebrate the land and the apples - and they were right. They now operate a cidery where they care for their juice throughout fermentation, cellaring, and bottling, on the waterfront in the city of Richmond, CA, where they produce some of the finest farm-to-bottle ciders in the Bay Area. You can find their ciders on the menus of the bay area’s finest bars and restaurants from Santa Cruz to Napa County.
